It’s easy to frame this as a total privacy nightmare, but where does that leave child protection? If end-to-end encryption remains an absolute wall, how is the state supposed to stop actual criminals? I wonder if there's a middle ground between mass surveillance and leaving the most vulnerable completely unprotected.
