Senates should all be abolished (including U.K.'s House of lords). High chambers (senates) are, by definition, places where one can laugh at the lower chambers (houses). Guess why the ancient roman senate is the model for modern day senates? Because roman senators were corrupt financially and sexually. Senate and (in your face) corruption go together: a fix and small number of senators by region (rich or poor, big or small) is the perfect recipe for corrupting democracy.

This is a big opportunity for Democrats to be better, not to pass purity tests, but to support someone who can make real systemic change.
