China spent $230 billions and built a now world leading EV industry. Australia spent more than that and will get a few 2nd-hand subs. It is not the amount of money that matters.

It’s a no brainer, Australia needs to get of the gas and capitalize on our natural resource the sun and use EVs. Instead of importing fossil fuels.

The reason western media like to walk in the middle of traffic in China is to make a huge scene when the police tell them to get off the road.

I move from Australia to China 14 years ago, in those 14 years I've seen massive change, my first trip to Beijing was a month after I arrived here, the air pollution was nasty, now when I go there the place is pollution free, EV's and the government have contributed to Beijing's clean air. I did fall into the trap of trying to educate people about China and explain that the view they have about China is propaganda generated, so I changed my response to the anti-China negativity, by just saying, come and see for yourself, then you can make an educated judgement.

My first trip to China was in 2009. I remember Beijing on a bad day - my first experience of serious air pollution which after New Zealand was a real shock. Now I go back and the change is unbelievable. 17 years in China is like 50 years everywhere else! The cities now feel like our future.

It's still got its issues but it's progressing unbelievablely fast compared to the US in particular

Can western media stop reporting on a busy road or intersection. I get it they're trying to show the busy-ness of the city but reporting on a road without closing it down is weird thing they do. Imagine if Chinese media start walking on your road trying to report while blocking you which is completely illegal btw.

It's really fascinating that a lot of Australians don't really know anything about China
