Tuchel was brought in to make the right tactical decisions at the right time within the bounds of a balanced squad that he selected. He got both of those things terribly wrong.
1. Marking on Messi was diabolical - how was he allowed to knock in so many crosses; 2. Inexcusable space and closing down for Enzo goal; 3. Ridiculous defending on crosses, especially their winner. Our defenders were taller and stronger! Even Sunday League managers and captains of non-League clubs could have identified those basics!
Biggest blame to Tuchel though as he caused the defensive mindset, structure and terrible subs which all helped create too much pressure on our defence.
