A Trebuchet? Thats like the most badass way to shoot stuff!

I saw a trebuchet misfire at Warwick castle once (unsure if it was this exact one). It was at night and they had lit the projectile on fire to make a big spectacle, but instead of flying forwards, it went straight up into the air and back down again. Saw all of the staff scatter away from the machine, then turn around and run back towards it to extinguish the projectile when it landed. Cool memory for me, can't imagine how terrifying it would have been for the staff

Also, I visited Warwick castle 20 years ago this summer, and had a blast. Glad to see it’s still as fun as I remember.
