Aren't you wonderful? Warmington-On-Sea!!
@
What a tool
@
Perhaps they could build a hotel
@
There needs to a restriction on them being allowed out of the camp
@
what a muppet.
@
Is Burnham sure he wants more devolution when people like this are in given more power? 😅
@
Yep, we had the same here in Lincolnshire. There was an application to house immigrants at an old RAF base here...The site had been used by the Dambusters in WW2 and the locals got their pitchforks out and protested. Idiots camped out with union flags next to a busy main road for weeks. Their reasonings for not wanting them there was due to "are eritedge" and "it should be turned into a museum and be preserved... Eventually everything was cancelled and the plans withdrawn. This was several years ago now and after driving past a few days ago, the site is overgrown with weeds, the buildings are crumbling, windows are broken and it looks an embarrassment to the history of the area. So much for the 'importance and historic value" eh....🤷🤡🤷🤡

What a narcissistic fool, all he talks about is himself and how hes doing this for some strange high minded grandiose idea of liberty. American faux libertarianism has rotted the minds of some of the old Tories, its just NIMBYism through and through
@
If I thought there was something severely broken with my political system, I can understand that, but then to look across the Atlantic with the idea that might be a solution - that's where you've lost me.
@
This NIMBYism really needs to be addressed.

Ooo, they’re so patriotic they want to leave the UK. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
@
They did that without consulting the residents . That’s really bad. Place them somewhere else .
@
They want to challenge the sovereignty of the UK? The presence of one tank would be enough to shut them up.

My dad lives in Crowborough, East Sussex - a town where there is an old military base that has already been repurposed recently for asylum seekers.
He (and his neighbours/friends there) have found that the asylum seekers haven't actually caused any issues themselves. However, the asylum seekers being there has attracted extreme right-wing vigilanties who patrol the streets in groups with intimidating dogs. Most of the people in Crowborough feel much more unsafe because of these vigilanties. They are the ones changing the town for the worse. It has made the town feel hostile to live in at times. It's very sad.
I wish this side of things was reported more.

Makes sense wanting to join the country that caused this problem. Don't we have enough US influence in this country already??
@
The 51st US state, what are you smoking? Independence is one thing, but cow towing to a psychopath is not the answer!

I hope that they pay off their share if the national debt first.
@
The Nimbyism is strong with these people. The camp isn't even in their village. It's between Piddington and Bicester, and the people of Bicester aren't crying.

Let them go independent, see how they get on creating a health service, paying for education, fixing roads etc once their 5 minutes of fame runs out.
