We did warn people they would be moving to every little hamlet in the country but nobody listened
@
Government is ridiculous. Small village is built by community and they are together.
@
Bye bye Piddington... The government won't listen.

Bit ironic, isn’t it? The Oxford Stand Up To Racism vice-chair opposing the move. Perhaps it’s less ‘Stand Up To Racism’ and more ‘Not In My Back Yard. 😂

I have no sympathy. This has been a long time in the making. In places like Oldham, we have suffered from this for 50 years, and people didn't care because Oldham is a working class town. Now that it's hit the middle class areas, they are reacting like this, while still calling other people far right. they have destoryed the country
@
We dont want them in hotels, we don't want them in HMOs, we don't want them in ex-army camps, we dont want them. Anyone who arrives illegally should be immediately deported or detained in secure camps until they can be deported.

English politicians seriously on a speed run to destroy the country.
@
They aren't asylum seekers

What are the new residents going to do i f there's no shops ?

How stupid to MPs have to be to realise what the British public want?

I completely agree, MattOnTheRoad. Do you think there's a fair way to balance local concerns with the national need for these sites?

Spot on, Mara. Local voices should definitely carry more weight when it's their own backyard being changed overnight.

Hi everyone! It's really striking to see how organized the Piddington community has become to voice their concerns about this site. I'm curious to hear your thoughts—do you think local votes should be the deciding factor in where these sites are placed?
