The U.S. routinely launches unarmed Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) to prove the reliability of its nuclear weapons. The missiles blast off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California and fly thousands of miles over the Pacific Ocean to hit a target near the Marshall. The US didn't tell anybody, but nobody complained.
