Who made the public finances difficult?

Stop all taxes and all benefits. Make pensions and healthcare, social care, elderly care and disabled care private but regulated

Operation "detroy middle class and make everyone poor"

Tax on wealth above £10mil would be a great move. Stop people accumulating wealth, and buying up all the assets so working class people can live better lives
@
New idea…kick out a lot more rich people who pay taxes and ask those left to pay more tax for having a job and give it to people who don’t work who may vote labour. Genius.

Suspected do you understand system Vs governance above majority of masses bread on table suspected any facts of economy situation etc my friends?

I guess this country is no different to North Korea or Russia now, where the ruling regime anoints its next dictator without any say from the people. Even Burnham himself said during the Tory PM merry go round, that there should be a general election, but now the dictator elect is silent. Why the hypocrisy? In fact, this case is much more undemocratic as this dictator wasn't even a member of parliament at the time of the last election. Notice how the corrupt media that panders to this regime is so silent on this slide into authoritarianism.

I'm not a fan of any tax, but if it's a choice between me or Alan Sugar - your out Alan!

There should be an asset registration tax on assets used as security for loans or financial swaps.
@
No more taxes. You can’t tax your way to prosperity.

After Reeves first disastrous budget she said she wasn’t coming back for more…….look how that turned out and ask yourself if you can believe anything they say

Burnham wouldn't address Parliament.....but gave an interview with Gary Liniker!! The absolute disregard to voters via Parliament is disgraceful

Seeing those crowds on the ground really puts the scale of this into perspective. It's one thing to read the reports, but seeing it live is another game entirely. Do you think these scenes signal a shift in how things will play out, or is it more of the same?

Spot on, Sofia. It definitely feels more like a thriller than politics at this point.

It really does feel like high-stakes positioning, Cal. Do you think he's testing the waters for public support before making it a formal platform?

Absolute madness how a "throwaway" comment can send the markets into a spin! Burnham is certainly playing a high-stakes game here. Do we reckon this is a genuine policy shift or just some clever positioning for the future? Who's your money on?
