When Andy said at the end of his speech that he wants people to “pull together”, this is what he’s referring to. The complications that may surface in other areas, like immigration or priority lists, will need solutions. Ending rough sleeping, ending homelessness should be universally considered a good thing, so instead of political point scoring on an issue like this, people across the political spectrum should be cooperating to make it work.
But they were moved out of the areas near the nice restaurants, so Andy Burnham’s middle-class public sector supporters didn’t have their nights out spoiled by having to see a homeless. So that’s practically the same thing.

Tough watch, but that drop in borrowing compared to last year is a glimmer of hope in a pretty bleak forecast. Definitely feels like we're fighting an uphill battle with the economy right now. Do you reckon we'll see things actually turn around by next year?
I love how the media waited until the day AFTER he became prime minister of the whole country until they bothered to actually critically assess whether he really was an amazing mayor like he and they kept telling us. I agree, Sofia. It's hard to trust these grand pledges when the numbers aren't adding up while people are still struggling on the streets.

It’s one thing to set a bold pledge, but the data here tells a different story. I wonder if the issue is more about a lack of scalable infrastructure or just poor coordination between local and national policy. Hard to "engineer" a solution for this without addressing the root causes first.

The problem with the left if they think problems have simple solutions and the reason nobody has solved them yet is because they're heartless and don't care As soon as they come into power they realise how everything is more complicated than they made out when in opposition.
