Vitamin D helped me a lot, but that was because I got a proper blood test and turns out I had single digit percentages of what I was supposed to have.

Energy levels and mood both improved noticeably, but make sure to get tested first to find out your deficiencies!

Unless you're in the US, then just eyeball it I guess.

This immediately made me go to the Mayo Clinic and NIH sites to check for side effects and contraindications for CoQ10 because I hate missing work for migraines, even with FMLA protections (who wants to spend their days off in a dark room curled up in pain throwing up the whole time?). Nothing on the lists is a red flag for me. I'm in!

I don’t remember what was in the last episode, but others I take and would like y’all to do a video on: magnesium, potassium, biotin, and Metamucil

Do workout supplements, creatine, bcaa's, eaa's, electrolytes mixes, protein powders etc. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Ashwagandha is an interesting one. Also, creatine for depression.

5:21 Fun Fact. Ginkgos are SO old that paleontologists think they were the first deciduous trees to evolve in the conifer forests. If you look at a ginkgo leaf, it even looks like a bunch of pine needles fused together.

"We're not doctors. We're not your doctor. We're a *youtube channel.*"

💀I died laughing at that for some reason. Love this channel.

Us old folks might be interested more information about glucosamine, chondroitin, and MSM for their troublesome joints. Very interesting video, thanks.

Dear scishow,

I bought the rock box and I love it but I have one complaint:

I am running out of space! My collection is getting so big I can't fit anything else haha 😅

sincerely,
A longtime scishow fan ❤

I would have appreciated a caveat in the beginning of the video stating that supplements are not regulated by the FDA (or any other regulatory body in the U.S.) and that you have no way of knowing if you are getting what is stated on the packaging unless the supplement is one of the very few supplements that are "third party verified."

On the collagen note, I want to point out that for those of us with connective tissue disorders like EDS, taking collagen supplements has not been shown to be effective. Lifestyle management (moderate strengthening, stabilizing, learning good movement technique, sleep hygiene, etc) is the way to go. There's still a lot unknown, but at the moment I believe our best information is that our bodies break down the collagen we ingest and then still will reassemble it incorrectly at the joints. So it's not a lack of collagen availability, it's the wrong blueprint for how to put the stuff together, no matter how much of the ingredients are in the body at the time.

I would really appreciate a video on the bioavailability of the most common brands of multivitamins. If it's not too much to ask please include gummies as well as non-chewable. I have found this data very hard to unearth. Yet if people study the effects of vitamins they must have some means of making sure the vitamins are bioavailable.

I'm tired of these MTHFR mutations in this MTHFR plane...

I would love a scishow video on magnesium because there seem to be like a million varieties which seem to have different effects, so what does the evidence point to citrate, malate, glycinate, or something else?

It drives me nuts that there’s essentially no standards at all for supplements.

It's crazy how some people will gobble down supplements that have near zero health and safety oversight but will freak TF out if you recommend a vaccination.
