As somebody that was in the very early days of podcasting, I'm one of those old folks that actually hate podcast has become synonymous with video interviews or highligy produced radio shows. Once upon a time the authenticify of amateour hour was what made podcasts what they have become.

I have to look up and skip them, and then I lose my place on my painting. When I’m in a flow state it’s the worrrst. So thank you! Hopefully after the first year I’ll be in a better place financially to get a ad-free podcast app.
I'm glad this is on YT because it's the only place on which I listen to podcasts, and many of them are audio only with just a waveform as the video. To me that's the normal way of listening to a podcast lol
as a proud Canadian, it behooves me to mention that "the medium is the message" was coined by Canadian communication theorist Marshall McLuhan in 1964 (our crown media corporation CBC used to have "a "heritage minutes" ad about it back in the 90s)
I appreciate that this is an actual podcast and not a vlog pretending to be a podcast. There is a real difference between a vlog and an audio-only podcast, and it's why I only listen to true podcasts as podcasts and I will only ever watch vlogs that say that they're podcasts as regular videos.
I actually really appreciate this. Pretty much all the podcasts I enjoy are video podcasts now, and I find myself reluctant to just listen to the audio in case I miss some visual stuff that might be interesting (annotations, even body language and facial expressions) and so I tend to have them playing on my second monitor while doing other stuff rather than just listening to it as an audio format. Part of me misses the days when that was the standard for podcasts.
Going audio only is music to this podcast EP's ears. It's totally understandable that most conversations I have with prospective podcasters includes questions about video but I still really love audio-only shows for lots of reasons.
One great feature of podcasts on YouTube is that you can use closed captioning. That's not something that the vast majority of podcast platforms support. Totally understand your desire to want this to not be video, but also very happy that you chose to include YouTube as one of the platforms the podcast could be accessed from. Thank you!
I am honestly very excited that it's audio only, I feel like video podcasts taking over the 'meta' has actually made most of the podcasts I enjoy worse as they started prioritizing clips over an actual good audio experience. Looking forward to listening to the first ep
