In an exclusive CMG interview, Nobel chemist Omar M. Yaghi praised China's AI progress, citing its young talent and long-term innovation commitment as the foundation of a unique research ecosystem.
Due to good policy and unified focus...communism works when everyone works togeather...
AI is a tool all we need do is ensure that tool is used for the benefit of all...
China is a big supporter of the UN and strives for profitable peace as all economies should...work togeather...look forward to see how China gets AI to serve us
I may not agree with how China runs its government. Too authoritarian for my taste. But I believe it will overtake the U.S. as the world's top innovator very soon. And I've put my money on it. I've moved half of my investments into China. That's how much I believe in their innovation.
I think the reason why its domestic market is so weak is that there is less freedom. You can't stimulate economic activity with draconian rules. It's a strong exporter, sure. But its citizens are not strong consumers. The state needs to give its citizens more purchasing power. Otherwise, they will forever be stuck selling to the world, but not buying what they produce.
Amazing how they don't even talk about stealing U.S voter files 😂😂😂

This is a critical conversation. Having seen how different regions struggle with rapid tech adoption, I lean toward the "governance first" side. If we don't establish a global framework now, we risk a fragmented landscape where ethics are ignored for the sake of speed. Curious to see if the panel addresses how to balance this without stifling innovation in emerging markets.

Spot on, Mara. Long-term vision is huge, but that kind of scale only works if you have the talent pipeline to back it up.

I agree, Mara. I think pairing that long-term vision with a flexible regulatory sandbox would be the real secret to unlocking their full potential.

It's fascinating to hear a Nobel laureate highlight how much of a role young talent plays in shaping an AI ecosystem. The energy of a new generation really can change everything! Do you think a focus on long-term innovation is the key secret here, or is it something else?
