Good movie? A Good Movie is a movie that gets an important message clearly across.
This movie has. Very obvious that.
Now, from the techs standpoint, maybe not a good movie. Because they care about the mechanics - not the message.
Or how very well the message has been received.
No 'failure to communicate' here.
Or, as Charles Bronson once said (about the Death Wish movies)...'critics don't buy tickets'.
The public sure did. And got the message it was longing for then.
I'd argue, that from biblical epics in Charlton Heston days over John Wayne and Clint Eastwood's directed dramas to other action films like Rambo etc. Hollywood always had a strong republican/conservative side to it. Coincidentally I think most of these movies are silly, but that's another story.
Why was Disney's live-action version of "Moana" afforded a completely different (higher) the level of cultural protection than "The Odyssey" was? And why did the same media who praised the "diverse" casting of "The Odyssey" (e.g. black actors and actresses, and trans actors, etc) also cheer for the "non-diverse" strictly racially accurate casting of "Moana"?
De Duitse film Citizen Vigilante, die gaat over een individu dat het recht in eigen handen neemt tegen straatcriminelen, krijgt geen leeftijdsbeoordeling en is daardoor uitgesloten van vertoning in bioscopen, winkels, streamingplatforms en op televisie. Volgens de regisseur ligt de oorzaak hiervan in de wijze waarop migranten in de film worden afgebeeld. Ik vind het uiterst zorgwekkend dat er censuur wordt toegepast, alsof kijkers niet in staat zouden zijn om fictie van werkelijkheid te onderscheiden, of alsof zij niet de complexiteit van maatschappelijke realiteiten kunnen begrijpen. Ter vergelijking: vergelijkbare thema’s en gewelddadige elementen werden ook in klassiekers zoals Dirty Harry, Death Wish en Taxi Driver getoond, zonder dat hier destijds op dezelfde wijze bezwaar tegen werd gemaakt. Het is van groot belang dat we de vrijheid van meningsuiting en openheid blijven koesteren. Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat censuur een gevaarlijke weg is die de democratische pluraliteit ondermijnt. Deze film onderzoekt de complexe morele en maatschappelijke dilemma’s die ontstaan wanneer iemand besluit de wet zelf te handhaven, vooral in een situatie waarin de overheid niet snel of adequaat
Why is the BBC pushing the false narrative of this movie ‘being banned’ in Germany. It wasn’t. They chose not to rate it, which gives any movie an automatic 18+ rating.

Well, where is the BBC? Why aren't you interviewing officers who feared for their lives? Or shop keepers picking up the broken pieces of their businesses? The frightened locals?
IMO , the judge is the worst. He was the ones usually got away from the crimes (legally). In real life, those judges and lawyers r true worst scums , unfortunately, they don’t get the same fates as in the movie. Glad to see that bad judge got what he deserved in the movie though.
