Fedorov provided Ukraine and its western backers with many pretty "Boom!" images which propelled a "Ukraine is winning" fiction.
The Ukrainian military meanwhile were more concerned about Russia still winning on the front lines.
Konstantynivka has recently fallen to the Russians and Lyman will follow soon.
He made a mistake is looking to expose Russia to NATO, thereby provocing the war, though he got his job promising his people peace. They made a mistake in not kicking him out, IMO.
Ukraine should have been partitioned in Feb 2014 and millions of Ukrainian and Russian lives would have been saved. 2004 and 2010 Ukrainian Presidential voting maps were pretty clear on the dividing lines.

The Verkhovna Rada will not appoint the man proposed by Zelensky to replace Fedorov.
