I completely agree, Priya. Maybe a coalition of international human rights groups could pressure for a transparent, third-party audit of the missing persons records.

It's heartbreaking that these families are still left in the dark after all this time. I wonder if there have been any independent investigations into where these people were actually taken, or if the government is just ignoring the calls for transparency?

Replacing the Defense Minister isn't enough if the strategy on the ground isn't working. If the troops and the public have lost faith in the commander-in-chief, keeping him in power just creates more instability when they can least afford it.
