A good teacher makes you interested in a subject you didnt know you were interested in. I am a chameleon person, a dog person, not a bug/insect person. Jessica Ware is absolutely fascinating. What a great educator. Great guest.

I have to tell this story. I did my masters in Entomology in Pakistan before i moved to UK in 1996, I have been working for uni of Manchester since then in experimental Oncology. One day, in tea room, a colleague brought a Jar with an insect in it and knowing i had studied Entomology gave it to me and asked what that was. I looked at it and it was clearly a true bug. I raised my head and and announced "its a bug". I could not understand why everyone around me was laughing until nearly a month later when i found out "every insect is a bug in England".

When Neil said they are all bugs, she should have replied "Oh like all the dots in the sky are planets" and watch Neils soul escape his body.

Neil's astonishment every 30 seconds or less is a testament to the grand nature of the world of insects, endless discoveries just like the cosmos!

I was dangling my legs in the lake from the dock i was sitting on one morning when a dragon fly landed in the water 20’ in front of me. I watched as he fluttered helplessly on the surface causing ripples I expected a fish to notice. While watching, another dragon fly cut my view and circled searchingly before helicoptering down to pluck the other out of certain death, he then made a beeline to the closest place to set him down which happened to be my knee. I watched him set him on my knee, seem to access me then left. The rescued dragon fly dried and flew off within a few minutes as I sat amazed and forever changed on what I considered intelligence. That dragon fly recognized a problem and solved it while risking his own life
