The other day Walmart was cutting prices Pepsico was cutting prices. Demand destruction is already here. The Hormuz levy show up wherever, if consumers ain't even keeping food purchases the same, what is the a price rise going to do on the rest? If they hike, they'll hike into a nose dive.
I rarely comment on financial stuff, but the intent seems like drag the conflict in Iran as long as possible so the fed would be forced to cut down the rates to bring back consumer borrowing and spending. In reality the opposite effect is being pushed. Prices are going up and that reduces spending.
Or to open up the public lands and increase drilling there.
I just went grocery shopping today and a bag of apples was $6 just a few months ago it was three something the family Dollar went up 25 cents across the board on every item inflation is getting worse
You want a truth bomb about the economy? inflation was supposed to be 3% annually starting with the Federal Reserve. We were 30 years ahead of schedule in 1965. We are at least 300 years ahead of schedule now... We are at the point of unsustainable inflation.
