I didn't expect it but one of my favourite scenes is the conversation about happiness with Mr Collins. It's so well played of both actors and it's really nice to see Mary realising she has more power over her own life than she thought. ❤
Mary talking about horses with the guest is my most favorite moment. Such an innocent, blissful feeling of sharing what the other person loves to learn about.
10:27 - Okay, obviously I love Mr. Hurst's wild impromptu lecture on horses. But can we all acknowledge what it would be like for someone, completely out of the blue, to ask you what you like, and then, with genuine interest, request that you tell them as much as you can about it? Mr. Hurst is who most of us would become and it's what makes Mary Bennett such a delightfully unique character.
I love that Lizzie not only said she cares and want to protect Mary but she showed it by helping her get out and explore her own possibilities away from her mother
It's lovely to see the 1995 Mary as Mrs Hill, the only person in the Bennet household who waa genuinely kind to Mary. Lucy is phenomenal as Hill and her chemistry with Ella is beautiful - I believe it's because she's been Mary and therefore "gets" her❤

This has to be one of the best series in a long, long time. Very well produced, script is endearing, extremely well acted, set design perfect. Sure to be a classic just like Pride and Prejudice. I have now seen The Other Bennet Sister three times and will likely watch it dozen of times more. Thank you for sharing, thank you for supporting this project! Applause! Applause!
I like that not only does it portray Mary in a different light, it also gives some mercy to Mr. Collins. I'm not saying Miss Austen would be pleased, but it is a charming story on its own.
The conversation between Mary and Mr. Hurst once she gets him to talk about horses is violently adorable 🤩I’m so glad it was included!
