You're awesome, man. You probably don't even realize the kind of impact you are making on English learners. I bet there are more people like me who came here just to improve their English and ended up learning how to improve their well-being. Respect
I thought people understood that happiness is a state of being you are not fully aware of when you're in it but that wasn't true. People think I'll prepare for happiness, that's not possible.
I’d advocate for a pragmatist outlook where happiness isn’t the goal, but being on top of your game is a priority is the goal in order to not get bored or starving for happiness (because it is a fleeting emotion, than anything else). I’ve been reading books on habits, concepts like essentialism, pragmatism, existentialism, and psychological science, which have all taught me that happiness isn’t something that you find externally, it is something you cultivate through action, authenticity, having goals to stick to, or accepting that you can’t control everything, as well as finding meaning.

i avoided the Vibrations of Manifestation book for WEEKS cause i assumed it was all fluff. but after seeing it pop up so many times i gave in and honestly? it hit. it explained stuff that no one ever breaks down — especially the deeper parts of energy that don’t get talked about. wild.
i swore the book Vibrations of Manifestation was overhyped until i started noticing how often ppl were bringing it up in comments and videos. got curious, bought the book, and yeah… had to eat my words. it wasn’t the usual “just think happy” stuff — it went way deeper than i expected. actually helped me shift things.
This really reminded me of the parable about the fish in the ocean, the one where the younger fish is searching for the ocean, not realizing he's already in it. When you mentioned the hedonic treadmill, it hit me at just the right time. Perfect video to wake up to and reflect on for a few minutes at the start of my day. Thank you.
A therapist recommended me that exact book, The Happiness Trap by Russ Harris, and it's been the most beneficial thing for my mental health, better than any prescription. It's the mentality switch that I needed
Chasing happiness really does make it feel like it's always out of reach. Seeing people only show ‘happy’ with wealth attached definitely affects what we think we want. The journey and those ups and downs are what make things interesting, cuz if it was just constant winning, it’d get old fast (unless you’re One Punch Man, lol)
Genuine contentment originates from within and, more importantly, from the ability to adjust to both positive and negative circumstances. The worst thing you can do is to rely on other people, especially those you care about, for your happiness.

And seeing death as only the beginning of true happiness will give meaning to your life on earth.
Just think about for a moment.
