The Chinese consumers are suffering from lack of confidence for 4 years now, with high unemployment, property downturn lost two decades of its wealth, stocks are bleeding and didn’t give any meaningful returns for the last three decades, investment both from private and government are down significantly YOY since the three red lines policy, tech anti trust and education crack down since 2021. Only bright spot is exports that means world’s consumers are doing well and consuming Chinese goods but local Chinese citizens don’t. What has government done to rescue the economy which it “destroyed from 2021”? Now with anti corruption drive no local government wants to do anything because they will be investigated, they are moving money out of China just last year $1 trillion was moved out of China.
