About time! That spot is absolutely stunning. Hope the UNESCO status actually helps with the protection side of things and doesn't just bring in crowds of tourists who don't know how to behave around the coral. Fingers crossed for Jordan!

Hope the UNESCO status actually boosts the protection ratios for the coral reefs here. Does WION have the data on how much of the reserve is currently under active management versus just designated? I'd love to see the source on those conservation metrics.

Absolutely stunning footage of those reefs! Getting that UNESCO nod would be massive for Jordan's conservation efforts. It looks like a diver's paradise out there. Who else is adding Aqaba to their travel bucket list?
