The US sued BP to the hilt for environmental damage from the Gulf of Mexico disaster but I've never understood why the UK never pursued the US for the financial losses our banking system suffered.

It's disgusting that with the knowledge and technology we have today to recognise the pattern and direct correlation, but it is still allowed to happen at great detriment to the vast majority of us.

Another sad truth: When such financial institutions over leverage and win.. the benefits are limited to wealthy investors. But when they fail they are saved by govt. and general public need to pay
