Not a word about how much the new militarization contributes to emissions and the climate problem!!!
@
The world needs more wetlands that retain water during rainfall and prevent flooding, while also ensuring water lasts longer during droughts.
@
I thought the US military and European armies plan more and further to the future than most civilian organisations. They just keep a low profile.

In my opinion, before delving into the details of the subject, you need to define exactly what you mean by a military alliance—such as NATO.
The military provides support in various disaster situations, including forest fires, earthquakes, floods, and—if necessary and as a last resort—the containment of infectious diseases.
However, each NATO member may have its own priorities depending on risk factors. Being prepared for all risk factors is costly and exhausting for military personnel.

And ecosystems can act as barriers to hostile forces' advance .Protecting and restoring them addresses both defence and climate change

From overheating helicopters to flooded infrastructure, climate is becoming a military challenge few leaders openly discuss.
@
Talking about climate change and the need to expand military spending are very related topics... what's next?
@
Isn't it amazing how many jump to the conclusion this is about NATO going climate neutral?
It's a sign of our times. Blessed are those who are capable to listen before they comment...
@
Climate change...really? They can't adjust just a little bit? I thought these are so called military
@
Resilience Resilience Resilience
What an overworked and pointless word.
@
Talking about the environment is big business in Canada. Doing anything about it? Not so much.

*"No habitat - no Military"* - at the top there are smart-guys in the Army
@
No economic gain, arm businesses are so profitable.

Anyone really watched the video? It's not about wind-turbine-tanks and solar-machineguns. It's about how the equipment and troops keep up with the new and coming conditions.
@
So many bots in the comments. Extreme weather impacts military just as much as everything else - and its a security issue.
@
it's a military defence organistion.
what are we going to tell russia when they invade, "can you only wait until we're carbon neutral please?".
what a joke.
@
Cuz the oil and gas corporations say so. And the ai companies, and the weapons manufacturers, and the US govt. Etc.

Change won't happen until greed and capitalism is actively dismissed, and the system of incentive structures to ignore or exacerbate climate change are dismantled
@
Because Climate Change is not the responsibility of a Military Alliance to address.

At the end of the day they all are the same, who don’t give a F about climate change and they except us common folk to cut down on everything while they be travelling via their luxurious private jets all around the world, in order to address climate change? What a joke.
