There is no such thing as a climate "activist," nor a climate "alarmist." They are all climate terrorists. Think EXPONENTIALLY, not LINEARLY. AI and robotics will easily solve so-called problems that we experience today. In the next 5 to 10 years technology will advance at least as much as it did from the last century. Just a few years ago, the collective “IQ” of AI systems was estimated to be below 100, almost equivalent to an average human. Today, advanced AI models are already surpassing a measured IQ of 150, placing them in the realm of top human geniuses. As this exponential trend continues, we can confidently expect that, within just a few more years, AI’s cognitive power will be vastly superior to any individual human and even to humanity as a whole. This explosive growth means that AI, robotics, and exponential technologies will have the insight, speed, and problem-solving capacity to not only address massive challenges like climate change, but to do so rapidly and at a scale previously beyond imagination, making “impossible” solutions not just possible, but inevitable. I miss the 1970s and '80s when sex sold and that's what everyone based everything on, until some jackass

By "saving the planet", obviously, the writer isn't wondering if H2 can prevent the planet from complete destruction, but is questioning if we can start using H2 before fossil fuels make the environment less habitable for humans.

The issue I have with the with the concept of this video is, humans will not invest in hydrogen technology until Earth's Ecosystem is near collapse due to the effects of burning fossil fuels.

So, the answer is NO, hydrogen is NOT going to save the planet. Humans are not yet capable of understanding the concept of cause and effect (to the environment).

Much like the parable of the frog in the pot of water that is heated slowly until boiling, humans will not see, nor understand the dangers created when the carbon cycle is damaged due to the burning of fossil fuels until it's too late.

If anyone believes otherwise, they have not been paying attention to the past 6,000 years of mistakes humans have made over and over and over again.

Everything is connected, so don't be surprised at the catastophe(s) that will occur when, (not if) humans manage to damage, beyond our ability to repair, the parts of the environment that regulate and moderate the temper

4:38 we have to make it as well as handle it, store it & transport it. Being the 'Smallest' element makes it really, really, really hard to contain it efficiently, it loves to slip through the smallest of cracks. Insulation can only go so far before it physically gets in the way & or adds too much to the cost. I'm all in for Hydrogen, we just have some obstacles to overcome that I do believe are achievable.

“Saving the planet” is incorrect. The planet will be here. It’s the life on the planet we’re trying to save. We may cause a mass extinction but the planet will remain and life may or not recover after a great many years. So we’re not saving the planet. We’re saving ourselves.

Using green produced H2 as energy storage is only ~30-40% efficient overall if you use fuel cells to convert the H2 back to electricity, but I guess we will need a variety of different ways to store energy as the transition to all wind and solar progresses.

You should cover White Hydrogen too, with opportunities as a clean energy source for heavy industry sited at locations where subterranean White Hydrogen reserves are naturally concentrated by geological processes (serpentinisation). It can deliver energy at 25% the cost of Green Hydrogen.

The problem with hydrogen isn't the efficiency of a single point in the hydrogen network/system, it's the accumulative losses that add up from the start to the vehicle wheels or burner in the home heating system.

The 95% electrolyser efficiency is one point and the losses are carried through to the end use along with all the other losses, one of them you mentioned and that is the compressor losses to compress the gas for storage.
