What is it about the actual knowledge of this going on that allows it to continue. Beyond shocking that these animals are allowed to perpetrate such inhumanity. If we know it’s happening and true the people who carry it out should be prosecuted and held accountable for their acts by similar punishment
Russia really is an incredibly miserable culture, not only do they torture Ukrainian civilians and POWs en masse, they do it to their own soldiers. They are stuck in the dark ages.
Guantanamo? CIA Black Sites? Hoe about thr fact that Bush Era "Torture Memo" Author, Jon Yoo teaches law at UC Berkeley? How about US and UK support for the Genocide in Gaza and Lebanon?
Just look at the prisoner exchanges: Russian POWs appear well-fed and well cared for, looking ready to return to the front lines. Meanwhile, it's heartbreaking to see the condition of Ukrainian POWs returning from Russian captivity.
So maybe it's time for Ukraine to stop fattening up Putin's future assault troops? At this point, it almost seems Russian soldiers are treated better in Ukrainian captivity than they are in their own country.
At last the BBC has something to say on this subject. Reports of the Soviet style Izolatsiya torture detention centres in Ukraine have been circulating since 2014. It is a practice that goes back to the beginnings of Communist Russia and was part of the technology of repression that Nazi Germany copied from Soviet Russia.
I'm shocked but not surprised. Very harrowing and it's sickening that simultaneously we hear Trump bang on about leaving NATO. Putin is a war criminal just like Bibi. They both fight on because stopping means accountability. The Ukrainians are such strong people and have sacrificed so much.
This has been happening since.... 2014 .... yes, 2014.
