Who will fill the vacancy left by Graham Platner? The search for a new US Senate candidate to replace the scandal-plagued Democratic hopeful is in full swing. DW explains what is at stake in November'
Why would Americans want that? The democrats are destroying this country with anti-American hatred and socialism. Hopefully, they never win an election again
We weren't looking for a boyfriend; we were looking for a guy that would fight for us! This is why the democrats lose even against the most corrupt, the republicans.
It's like the Democratic party wants to lose. They lost me when they shafted Bernie and tried to shove Hilary down our throats. I'll only vote third party from here forward.
I know a lot of burn it down Democrats and i get the tendency to radicalize when your one vote seems so insignificant. But if you get a shot to lead and you spend it burning things down (ironically a somewhat Trumpian kind of philosophy), then you will not get chosen to lead again for a very long time. So those people should think about that. And who didn't take one look at Platner and wonder aloud what skeletons were in his closet?
The sexual allegation scandal is from multiple women in public. One allegation is he broke into her house after she told him not to and sexually assaulted her against her will. This is not a typical allegation.
Julius nailed it. In short, Dems need to pick a candidate that has a good plan forward and Dems must stick with/back their candidate. It's a numbers game when it comes to voting & the Republicans have been playing that game with their candidate for yrs (not always for better, but they amass the votes that way). Independents ... they're an interesting group these days.
This should have been an easy victory, but they keep messing it up. It’s not as if Platter’s controversies came out of nowhere.

Good morning, everyone. Settling in with my tea and catching up on this. It’s quite a scramble for Maine right now—it'll be interesting to see who steps up to steady the ship before November. Do you think a late change in candidates helps or hurts a party's momentum?
