What if you could kill a cancer cell without touching the healthy tissue around it? That is the central promise of photodynamic therapy, and Stephen Bown has spent forty years making good on it.
From what I can gather from this lousy lecture, this guy's knowledge is 50 years out of date, and there are no therapies in PEOPLE to use PDT for curing anything because it is nonspecific for anything and destroys the whole area not any disease you are interested in.
If light is a radio wave, could a physicist study radio wave interference patterns to cause an activating light pattern on target instead of using the laser fibers? Use a modified CAT scan type device to map then apply radio wave that interferes in such a way as to reach the appropriate wave length in a very precise area? Could some kind of biodegradable pico-lens like the advanced metamaterials used in new light processing computer units? Photo-activator, Metalens in some kind of blood serum, and a high power outside light that transforms the wave length only as it hits the lens over a particular area?
Thanks so much Professor Brown. That was so interesting and entertaining. I learned a lot. You have made amazing contributions that will likely help many people far into the future.
IT IS REALLY JUST FREQUENCY. Photon pulsed at frequencies. This is technology that has been rebuked by the medical establishment for decades because they can't profit of it like chemo and other drugs that really don't work.
Cut way down on processed foods. Manmade chemicals are the cause. They accumulate in our bodies if they aren't countered or altered via other foods, minerals and vitamins consumed naturally.
Heck, now there is scientific proof that the sun doesn't cause cancer, it is the sunscreen that causes it...
Theres that other promising treatment where the cancer cells show up as diff magnetic resonance? and then they have to find a way of zapping the bad cells. This laser one seems very clean and works so wonder which or both will be developed and come out best? or used in diff applications?
Stephen Bown gave his first Discourse at the Royal Institution in 1981. Forty five years later he came back to show us how far photodynamic therapy has come. Which application in this talk do you think has the most exciting future? Let us know below.
