US troops are actually not required in Europe, they are quite capable of handing their own defence, in fact the US has suppressed European build up by being there. America is in Europe for its own reasons, Force projection and to be the main arms seller to European nations. Unfortunately few Americans understand this which is why they write the stupid comments about America paying for Europe's defence. All the NATO countries now realise that America under Trump has become an unreliable ally. All this contriversy has forced Europe to reallign the leadership of NATO away from America. All those uneducated American's are finding out America is not the centre of the universe that Holliwood tought them.
For those wondering why, as the arctic ice melts (you know, due to that non-existent Climate Change) Russian subs can now sneak closer to the USA. Which doesn't really matter, because Trump is on REALLY GOOD TERMS with Putin, who is a Really Nice Guy. So it is necessary to take Greenland away forcibly from an EU country (an ally), which is part of a bloc which has $1.5 trillion in bilateral trade with the USA. And the trade embargoes that will immediately result will only be felt by the undeserving poor in the USA who earn less than $1B a year - you know....those who weren't invited to Epstein's parties.
