I've seen this in Nepal and Sikkim. I live in the Netherlands, and we usually just get flooded. Usually, the North Sea gets rough when the storm surges come with the autumn storms
That doesn't look like a landslide, where the top layer of soil slides down. That looks like the whole rocky part of the cliff toppled over. Those boulders are as bit as the apartments next to it!
This is very scary ,but it could have been worse. Hopefully no one died .It looks like a piece of the mountain came down. Chongqing is A CITY on a MOUNTAIN in many areas . Hopefully it won't happen again.
