Only foreign media can raise this issue now. Sadly almost all indian media is sold and the few small and individual journalists that are there are not safe. All that’s been happening needs to be showed to the people. India isn’t far from becoming a dictatorship

This is the lowest moment for Indian democracy

What the European standards says on this - you come suddenly, disguised, cordon off the area, grab the person, and take away.
No notice, no consultation, no permission.
It is kidnapping in the name of saving

Medical intervention" is just a convenient excuse for the state to silence a peaceful protest when it becomes too loud. If they actually cared about his health, they would have addressed his demands weeks ago.

That's a fair point, Lena K, though it feels like a strategic move to silence the protest. It reminds me of how "safety" is often used as a justification to neutralize political dissent.

It is a heavy narrative, Sofia. But couldn't a medical intervention also be a pragmatic way for the state to prevent a potential tragedy on their watch?

It’s heartbreaking to see someone pushed to a hunger strike just to be heard. That tension between a "medical intervention" and a forced removal is such a heavy narrative. Do you think the authorities are actually concerned for his health, or is this just a way to silence him?

The Cockroach Janta Party was created after India's Chief Justice appeared to compare unemployed young activists to "cockroaches" and "parasites." Activists turned the insult into a viral movement. It has now amassed millions of followers on Instagram.
