Türkiye, too, must continue to strengthen its defence capabilities and resilience as the regional security environment evolves. This changing reality affects not only NATO but also the wider European and Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, where heightened geopolitical tensions require greater cooperation, strategic planning, and investment in collective security.
This is precisely why Europe needs Türkiye. As NATO's second-largest military, a key bridge between Europe, the Black Sea, the Caucasus, and the Middle East, and a vital strategic partner, Türkiye plays an indispensable role in strengthening Europe's collective defence, energy security, migration management, and regional stability. A stronger partnership between Europe and Türkiye is increasingly becoming a strategic necessity rather than simply a political choice.
