I'm from Detroit and it's criminal how this administration is extorting money for deals that were made before they were in office. When I visit I and look at the modern completed new Gordy howe bridge next to the old and crumbling Ambassador bridge I wonder how this grifter gets away with this. It's bad enough that solar projects in Detroit were scrapped well into construction, because funding was canceled. So much has been lost and wasted because of flawed ideas and corruption.
There was a legally binding contract signed which sets all this out. As usual the Tangerine turd and the USA don't want to abide by their legal obligations. Canada should just sue the USA for breach of contract, and loss of revenue for the bridge staying closed

Right: Trump signed the agreement in his first term; he has no sound basis for changing the terms now. Keep his feet to the fire; make him honor the original terms. To Hell with the owners of the other bridge, who have profiteered for decades, and to Hell with Trump the bribe-chaser.
Canada paid for the bridge, so of course they deserve to recoup their money!!

Fair enough. Why should we hand over the cash before we've even broken even? Seems like a pretty basic business move to me. Hope the construction actually stays on schedule for once.
