Beautiful area, but looks very vulnerable to fire. Maybe best not to live there unless you have to.

The current Spanish gov under Sanchez is one of the most corrupt govs in the western world.

Spaniard here, first my condolences to all families for their loss of loved ones. Second, to denounce it has been for too many years, decades back, these disasters continue to happen in Spain DUE TO central and regional governments, no matter what party, continuous neglect and dismissal of public duty for corruption, € billions from taxpayers vanished, and barely public officials have been accounted for. These are the tragic consequences for abandonment and mismanagement of infrastructures, lands, villages and cities. Besides this last tragic wildfire, and happening the same from too many years ago, more fatal disasters add to the list in recent years as the AVE trainwreck (48 dead), the Dana floods (+200 dead), Canary Island volcano eruption... it's about yearly catastrophe, survivors left stranded, thanks to the authorities "too little too late" attitude, hiding the public money or already gone (stolen), and the country falling apart. It's the responsibility of the current Spain's PSOE socialist government to take action to end this ongoing crisis for years, but doesn't do it. We spaniards and foreign residents don't deserve this institutional indifference and mistreatment. Becau

I don't fully understand how, on such wide open terrain, they could not see or smell the fire, or hear the helicopters, etc. Sad.

This level of irresponsibility is why our nation's officials don't like dealing with Spain.

The current Spanish government is incapable of telling the truth unless it directly lines their pockets
