50/50 blame to be honest. England had just scored then gave up playing which was unexpected and a mistake. Tuchel is then left with a dilema and makes another mistake with his tactics. Players put their manager between a rock and hard place and the manager buckled. Period. If you're honest, the way the Arentines picked themselves and the tempo up, we were always going to struggle to get through that given how shakey they got between 55 - 72 minutes.
The tactics he deployed was because he did not have technical players to control the game and retain possession..he took athletic runners at the expense of technicians and paid the price...England goes out everytime the same way score a goal then sit back defend
Tomas Tuchel, if you want control of the ball in your midfield then why you didn't using Mainoo? He has agility to close down and chase second ball, he has flair and swift move to keep and challange the ball, and he is clever enough to send a pass down the flanks. But no, YOU chose Konsa and Burn to replace Gordon and James.
Oh Dan Burn, why in the name of God you picked him into your squad?! You said and we all saw it clearly since the first game of this World Cup 26 how England defenders lack physicality and really at lost facing opponents' longballs and crosses. That is the reason that you should picked Harry Maguire!
The lad is on form all season, is fit, never let England down and he is really experienced to face those kind of pressure and situation even the penalty kicks.
England really was rode on lucky heels, should have been gone home against Mexico if not because their goal posts saved them.
The Blame is on YOU, Tuchel!
The two big problems were 1) not having an “ out “ ball or potential for counter attacks. 2) The midfield falling back on top of the defence and the defence falling back on to the keeper. It was a six yard box low block with no one pressing the long shot or the cross. Having no out ball was probably the most devastating. Rashford , Watkins , Maduake , Saka . Kane should have come off. He was redundant.
You need a manager that the players and the fans love . They are all adults. A manager is just a part of the team. They don't need a "boss" or a teacher.
I’m the biggest England hater bro. But Tuchel has thrown his entire team under the bus.
He left those players at home with a clear video to play physical. Goodness even Mainoo could do that which he is complaining about. Warthon, Foden, Trent, palmer?
Beside the gold of 66 has England ever converted a WC semifinal to a medal? No. The WC Bronze medal will be the next biggest ENG achievement. Then Go for it.
He is 100% correct, England have never been able to pass a ball and control a game against top tier opposition. This has been the case since forever, it’s not new.
Yes but HE was in charge of the team selects and all the substitutions and he has has said he fully accepts responsibility for it. Nobody was allowed to disagree with his authority. Yes we were like that before he took charge but he just encouraged it because he became frighten of an English problem when in fact he was hired to turn things around instead.
BS. He had mainoo, Saka, Rashford who can all keep the ball, and take it down the channels.
He left Wharton, Alex Scott, James Garner, Foden, Palmer, etc, at home.
It’s difficult to sympathise with Thomas at the moment. He , and some of the players, really embarrassed the Nation in front of the world. So unseemly were the hoof-it-out tactics that the foreign press were as astonished and embarrassed as we were. We played worse and more desperate than any other team in the tournament in that final 40mins… like a League 2 side in the FA Cup against a top EPL league. I’ve been watching England, and Club football, for decades , and I’ve never seen a team panic and capitulate so badly .
Tuchel before the tournament: “I will help England win the World Cup by building the best team and with new tactics”
picks team and chooses tactics for tournament
Tuchel: “the players are inherently flawed”
The moment he took off gordon for konsa it was over. You can’t sit that deep with no outlet against a team like that!
