Andy Burnham today insisted he is 'ready' to become Prime Minister, delivering a message of hope and unity as he vowed to be "a leader for the North, the South, the East and the West".
Yes I think you’re right- he does sound authentic. His stated approach is why the electorate voted Labour, we were sick of incompetence, scandal of Cameron, May, Johnson, Truss and just the sense that there was no real choice. So yes I’m optimistic
I was one person who wanted to retain Starmer. That said, I very much want Andy to to well. I want to retain a labour government, so all the very best!
Have to say, I've been here before, full of hope and optimism, only to be disappointed later on. However, I do feel something is different this time, and I do hope with every fibre of my being, that AB might just be the man to deliver hope and results, I repeat might....
Don't fail Andy, because the right wing Reform filth is waiting in the shadows...
If you fail then everything this country has ever stood for and fought for will be gone...
Best of luck Andy.
Leadership should be linked to the election and political leanings should not be a reason for frequent changes. The party should have a clear objective and adhere to it as it did in the general election. If it fails to represent the public effectively, frequent changes in prime ministers are not justified. This practice does not demonstrate national unity or party cohesion and suggests a lack of collaboration. Frequent changes in leadership are a concerning indicator.
My worries is he still has the "Labour Together" sponsored politicians.. Wes Streeting, Shabana Mahmoud and Josh Simons
