While Pad 2 undergoes numerous water deluge testing ahead of Flight 13, Pad 1's reconfiguration picks up the pace ahead of returning to launch operations at Starbase.
Every time I see a SPMT I want to go make one, I have no need for it, I just want it. I guess I could move grain silos or something, you know, for my own amusement.
Cleaning all the little lizards out of the deluge pipes. Any of the pad works could be for flights beyond flight 13, future versions of Starship. Doesn't have to be just for the next one. SpaceX has the down time so they use it. Great to have you back for the narration Das.
It is called crushed rock. Around New Orleans they used clam shells dredged out of Lake Pontchartrain as a substitute for crushed rock. Once it packs together, it is like concrete. You need machinery to dig through it. The local residents eventually made dredging it illegal to clean up the Lake. If you want to see what underground New Orleans looks like, watch the movie 'THEM!', only in New Orleans the tunnels have to be pile supported. But timber piles will last hundreds of years below the water line if driven into saturated grey clay deposited by the Mississippi River. Think Venice, Italy. Try to use a post hole digger in that clay, and you have to use your fingers to get the clay out of it. No amount of banging it on the ground will get it loose from the steel.
Some inspector decided the welds needed to be thicker so they ground off the paint & rust and did more welding passes.
I want to see them catch those ships & boosters on a regular basis. A couple of misses and you might be able to make a lot shorting the overvalued stock.
The second deluge test was more powerful respect to any other deluge test that i have seen before.
It seems like they have improved the power of the deluge.
" hey Bob are you welding?" " no man I am just dragging a shiny light across this metal"😁🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣
