I am a fan of Douglas Carswell. He is better off in Mississippi than he would be in the UK thanks to 14 years of Tory rule. I didn’t think much of today’s dailyt interview with Tice but look forward to Dewberry.
It was a good move by Farage. The process is too long allowing media and opponents to constantly bang on about who gave what to whom without getting to the point. Secondly, the whole uniparty has become an antireform huddle. Perfect to make reform look like the only viable anti establishment party.
Camilla really doesn't like Tommy Robinson, there's only been one incident at a railway station and Tommy was found to have acted in self-defense so I don't know where she's getting her information about he also went on to assault someone too.
Interesting, I think conflict between left and right has definitely come about following Brexit. Before then, people could respectfully agree to disagree without conflict.
How very noble of expat Carswell to have refused to accept publicly-funded transport. However, after being elected in 2005, Carswell originally designated a £1 million flat in London as his second home, and claimed over £21,000 for food, rent and furniture. In 2007 he began renting a house in Thorpe-le-Soken in Essex, which he designated his second home, and again paid a deposit and for furniture, including a £655 loveseat, from his expenses. Between 2007 and 2009 he claimed £32,000 in expenses for the house, commenting "I believe this is entirely justified". Following an investigation of the expenses of all MPs, he was ordered to repay £2,159 in expenses.
There are a significant number of Tory MPs that would rather see Labour continue to destroy the nation, than allow Farage and Reform to gain power. Equally, half of their remaining support, 20% currently in the polls, think the same. There's little chance of a deal where they think about what's better for the country.
Problem with a Reform-Tory deal is the Tory wets who would not support the necessary measures the country needs.
