Its been a year today since Ozzy passed away on July 21st 2025, but he lives on in our lives in the music forever. He has been my biggest hero since I was 9 in 1981. I have seen Black Sabbath perform live 26 times and Ozzy solo 17 times. Ozzy and Black Sabbath influenced my entire life in music in all my bands and in my current After Forever:Black Sabbath Tribute band.

This photo was from 2001 when I met him in Rolling Stone Records in Norridge IL, an awesome record store that is still there. You had to buy the "Down To Earth" album and be in the first 100 buyers. I stayed at my Grandma Jannusch's house a mile down the road from the record store to have a jump off point to the store. I was actually about 5th or 6th in line. You got a silver ticket in your cd cover to come back the next weekend Saturday. I once again stayed at my Grandma Jamnusch's house. She was happy to see me. I arrived that Saturday morning hours before I was due to meet Ozzy. The local radio station The Loop told everyone in the city to show up but Ozzy would only meet the first people with the silver ticket. So I met Ozzy my 2nd time and got to talk and take this photo. I told him he was my biggest hero ever
