About 20 or so years ago, in Southeastern US a weather event of some sort had blown millions of those fuzzy aphids, or something like them into our hemisphere.
"Asian wooly Hackberry Aphids" is what they were called if memory serves me correctly. 🤔 I could be mistaken as to how they got to Alabama.. it was around 1997-98.
now we know why these lemurs and other night marsupials love eating insects: and I get to visit WITHOUT the humidty count, the insect arrivals. and the heat of the night.
This phenomenon is both strange and worrying, especially since the insects appear in such large numbers at night. It's unclear whether the cause is the weather, lighting, or a change in their habitat.
Around 0:50 I can hear the cuckoo singing, which is exactly the same song I hear in Korea. Somewhat surprised, I looked up the internet finding some cuckoos in Korea migrate all the way to Africa for winter.
It’s so amazing, this is the first time I find out about this little guys, and also that only female lemurs (of this subspecies at least) go into the seasonal sleep. Thank you for showing us more of our beautiful planet
