Long prison sentences should be imposed on people found guilty of deliberately starting fires in open country.

A lot of our countryside is peat based soil which they won't be able to fully extinguish as it can keep burning underground very slowly for years. We can only be confident the fires are fully out once the rains arrive. Personally, I'm loving this heat but I'm now praying for rain to keep everyone safe.

Whoever started this and other fires need locking up for a long time.

They ESTIMATE excess deaths!!!!!!!!
@
Has anyone else noticed that 20 years ago the peak temperatures in the day in the Uk would be between 11-3pm now it’s 2-6pm makes no sense
@
I dont live far from the saddleworth moor fire and the snoke spreaded across my town and it smells
@
Regardless of the cutback in the fire service, they can never extinguish the arsonists, so expect more fires.

Temperatures for July for the last ten years are 32c to 40. 3c .

Não vendam foguetes ao público no Verão.

Em Portugal, mais de 100 incendiários foram detidos ou em flagrante ou com intenção.

Protect yourself ❤🇵🇹

Every summer, the arsonists start their burning sprees. Mandatory life sentences for anyone caught starting fires would help put a stop to it.

I've become accustomed to hearing of wildfires burning across California of late, seeing it ripping across England is a scary advancement, if our weather is due to be more extreme like this going forward, things are really going to have to change >

As humans we are all fully trained.... At dying. Our government just speeds this up for us.

This is deliberate

Would not surprise me in this day and age that people are littering carelessly in forest areas, including glass bottles that can magnify the sun.
@
Can you imagine then if AI data centres are built? They will swallow up much needed water 💦 for the fire services.
@
If people cause fires like those in Tintwistle and Dovestones they should get very long sentences.. The air from these fires is appalling it must be abhorrent for those with diagnosed breathing problems

3 weeks ago ? It’s disgraceful how they hollowed out these critical services and of course private equity has taken over all the infrastructure now that’s involved in manufacturing engines and equipment so the cost of replacement is enormous.. never mind that every local authority in the United Kingdom is under severe stress because of bad Financial management so there’s no money to go around.
@
Terrible fire services were cut we need more fire fighters 😩
