You can't make the land of no opportunities also uncomfortable. That is the social contract and they are breaking it. You will never be more that a worker bee but you will have good enough life being one.
This economist doesn't explain how raising taxes on rich people and corporations improve efficiency in the economy. Merz is not trying to bring in money, hes trying to make a German worker more competitive compared to a Hungarian, or an American worker.
62% of people canvassed in a leading opinion poll conducted earlier this year said they felt the situation in Germany was unfair. Over one third of those said that they felt the gap between rich and poor was too wide — 13% more than last year.
