My grandfather is in the end days of his life, and my son just took his first steps. For some reason this song feels like seeing those two things happen at the same time, being somewhere in the middle myself. Happy & Excited for my son, reverent and reflective over my grandfathers life and a song that captures both of those feelings in one.
For anyone who enjoyed the backup vocals of Dan Reeder - if you're not already familiar with him, I highly recommend checking out his catalog of music. He's a wonderful and incredibly unique songwriter and musician.
