Wow! I got tears of happiness! Well Done Gary! I wrote to my MP about Wealth Taxes, I turned up to a Labour Party conference (first time) and talked about Wealth taxes to a room of Labour tax experts (I was shaking like a leaf). I tell all my friends. I do standup comedy and I wear 'Tax Wealth Not Work' stickers on my outfit. You inspired me and I believe in you and wealth taxes! WELL DONE! People come up to me as ask me if I've heard of Gary Stevenson! The message is getting through!
Ive been following Gary's Economics since Covid and never thought we would get this far. I just felt that spreading the word was worth it to put energy into something-rather than just desparing over how things were going to be worse for my nephews and niece and all the young people in this country. Being part of the Patreon, and spreading the Tax Wealth not Work message as much as i can has kept me going despite doubt it would work against all of the billionnaire media power in this country. I cant believe we're now at this point. Gary, the sacrifices you have made for this when you could have been 'sipping cocktails in the Philiplines' has not gone unoticed by all of the people who hear you and support you. When the "who owns Britain" videos came out there was a lot of talk of wealth taxes.
Economists & Researchers said things like "We really should tax the 1% who own 50% of the land, wealth, capital and profits"
But then the politicians came out with "We really should tax everyone with a 4bed south of the Watford gap"
This conversation (not so) subtlety shifted from the top 1% to the top 40% without anyone acknowledging it's not the same debate. More Labor duplicity.
There's a famous anechdote which involved Roosevelt being asked if he would fulfill his promises on civil rights. His response was 'will you make me'. That's how policies are pushed through, it's not so much about the elections but about having an independent movement that doesn't dissolve after electing someone but that constitutes a permanent pressure force.
As Gabriel Zucman said in your interview a wealth tax isn’t radical, what’s radical is keeping the system as it is. It favours a tiny percentage to the growing disadvantage of the many.

To tackle wealth inequality it will be necessary to seriously tighten up political funding. Politicians should work for their voters, not their donors.
I’m an Australian travelling in Europe and just went through Rome airport. I had my bag searched at security, which had your book in it. The airport security guard saw your book and asked me if it was worth a read (he knew who you were and asked me if the trading game was any good), I told him definitely worth a read.
