I got to run solo along side a wild camel for about 2km in Aussie outback.
Was terrifying. They are enormous.
Especially when i found out later it was likey a young male which can be extremely aggressive:/
Fyi - im a kiwi and was the first time I'd even seem a camel. When i was back at the mining camp later, everyone freaked out, since it's posturing and running along with me aggressive.
Fortunately i had so much experience with all types of dogs, I just tried to use the same attitude and body language with a potentially aggressive dog. No eye contact, bo changing pace, not giving or taking space, and just talked to it about anything i could think of.
Tbh i was much more scared of the wild dingos i would occasionally hear tracking me. Thats when Id always try to make it back by sunset. Big difference between active interaction and stalked.
