To find the actual cross used in a Roamn execution, hundreds of years later is, well, impossible. But if the Emperor of Rome wanted to find it, I'm pretty sure some piece of wood would be found, that was this cross, same with the Roman lance that pierced Jesus. Realistically both tasks would be a fool's errand, but if the emperor ordered it, it would be completed. Same with the cup at the last supper, that meal took place in a believer's home and all the food and utensils would be provided by the home's owner, why would the cup used by Jesus be any different than all the other cups, and why would it be saved and separated. This only makes sense, if the emperor needed these things to convince the people of Rome, to follow Christianity and give up the traditional religions of Rome. Growing up Roman Catholic I always found the gospel of the water into wine as odd, what was the message, but in recent years I found out about Bacchus the God of wine, was also born of the union of Jupiter and a human and was the God of resurrection, then it made sense.
