There was no outstanding team this World Cup. Massive missed opportunity for England. They'll make all sorts of excuses for them now in the aftermath that they were inferior to the better nations but outside of France, England had the best depth of options available to make up a strong squad of any nation at this tournament. Tuchel made very questionable selections from the squad he took right up to the elevens he played, especially in wide areas.

Mexico aside, we looked a mess for the most part, manager failed to develop a coherent unit despite a specialist squad. Need to copy spain and link with youth setups DNA.
I can forgive Tuchel for making an error of judgement. But I can't forgive him for the lack of accountability and the negative way he's spoken about the team. If he doesn't believe in our lads and their ability to go all the way then he absolutely should not be in that job.
In years to come we will look back at the 2026 WC and say “What could’ve been” - We were in such a great position up until the first goal against Argentina. Sure, Argentina switched to ultra attack but if Gordon had been kept on longer, Kane been taken off for Rashford and Saka and other attacking players brought on to strengthen the midfield we could’ve overcome Argentina who would’ve pushed until the very end. Just a shame we instead went ultra defensive and played into Argentina’s’ hands, giving them space and time on the ball deep inside our half to create chances.
Wright and keane making excuses saying Argentina were great. The manager made some horrible changes and sent a horrible message to the players. But 7 percent possession is embarrassing
Disagree with Roy. We're annoyed at the manner of the loss not because we all of a sudden thought we were a QF/SF level team who should now be winning world cups. It's the fact we sat back and rolled over, we went out without a fight and like cowards. Egypt, Cape Verde, etc. all can hold their heads up can we say the same?
I honestly don’t think we would beat Spain, in a final you obviously never know…but I just think their style would be like death by a thousand cuts for us. Would’ve been nice to find out though
