I live nearby, pretty tame for this country, all good, lucky it wasn't milking time. We don't want milkshakes 😮

It seems that every day, there is an earthquake somewhere, suddenly.

The earth wiggled a bit. There was no tsunami. Everyone can calm down now.
@
I live in New Zealand never felt a thing. We are used to it
@
It was a 5.9 and we don't get off the shitter for anything less than a six.
@
C’est sur la Faille Alpine et profond (76 km), aucun risque de tsunami heureusement !

Te Anau is pronounced Tee-ah-now. We were in Te Anau when it happened, not a big deal, a little shaking for 30 secs. Not big enough to cause any damage. When the Alpine Fault goes though it'll be an 8+, that will flatten most towns.

How come we didn't see anything in the Australian news about this earthquake ???
@
I live in Alexandra, central otago in southern New Zealand and we definitely felt it😂 I'm about 140 km or 87 miles away from the epicenter in a straight line. No damage, bit of excitement 😂

Fortunately it's fairly deep or else it could have really been much worse. Hugs for NZ. I just watched a short documentary yrsterday about the 2011 quake and it was heartbreaking.
@
It was pretty strong my bed was hard out shaking, Invercargill 😮

I live in Oamaru, North Otago, New Zealand Aaoteroa 🇳🇿. This Earthquake was never felt by myself or by my Father. I think it was far too deep to cause too much harm. But it could be a precursor for a big natural disaster.
@
It’s been down graded to a 5.9
