Donald Trump will once again be front and center. The White House has already confirmed Trump will watch the match in New Jersey, but he’s also set to hand the trophy to the eventual winners, as stated by FIFA President Gianni Infantino. It was a precedent set last summer when Trump handed Chelsea the Club World Cup trophy after the London team beat Paris Saint-Germain in the final. On that occasion, things got a little awkward. After handing the trophy over to Chelsea’s captain, Trump didn’t exit stage left, leaving many of the players looking somewhat confused. In the end, they stopped waiting for him and lifted the trophy while Trump sort of just lingered around. Let’s hope he wanders off and lets the players enjoy themselves today…
