A mother waits outside a damaged building in the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia as rescuers attempt to reach her daughter and another woman trapped after a recent strike.
Heartbreaking to see. Having followed conflicts across different regions, the agony of a parent waiting in that uncertainty is a universal trauma that transcends borders. I hope the rescue teams can get through quickly. Reuters always captures these raw moments with such stark clarity.

Oh my god, my heart is absolutely breaking for that poor mother. 😭 I can't even imagine the agony of just standing there waiting while they try to get to her daughter. Please, please let them both be okay. This is just devastating.

Heartbreaking to see. Having lived across different regions, you realize these images look the same regardless of the country—the raw desperation of a parent is universal. I hope those women are pulled out safely. Reuters always captures the human cost so starkly.

It is absolutely heartbreaking to see that mother waiting so anxiously outside the building. My heart goes out to her and everyone affected by these strikes. Do you think there is enough international support reaching these cities right now?
